GRANGETTO’S SUPPORTING THE NORTH COUNTY SAN DIEGO COMMUNITY
As a family-owned and operated business Grangetto's is and has been a part of the North County San Diego community for over 50 years. We're dedicated to giving back to our community and supporting the best way we can. Check out some of our projects:
Grangetto’s donated supplies to help with the South Oceanside School Orchard.
Dear Grangetto’s - Thank you so much for the 75 foot hose and the drip irrigation tubing. We at South Oceanside School are appreciative of your donation and generosity. The hose went into use immediately and I am impressed how much nicer it is to work with than my own hose at home. Quality certainly makes a difference, so I will be needing to upgrade some of my own home garden supplies. South Oceanside School I have included a picture of our newly created orchard. We have planted two plums, two apples, lemon, peaches, two oranges, a pear, tangerine, grapes, blueberries and kiwis. We had students from all grade levels involved in the planting. Now, they will grow during the summer and hopefully we will return in the fall to larger, and stronger trees. In the summertime, myself and a few garden volunteers will put the hose and the drip system into use and take care of the trees till the students return in the fall. For the last few weeks till school is out, weeding and watering will become the next action item in the orchard. Thank you so much for for helping create a successful garden project at South Oceanside School. Thank you, Grangettos! You helped make this project happen! - Madeline Ramirezp, Garden Coordinator and first grade teacher, South Oceanside School
Grangetto’s provided seeds to the Peru Travel Group organization to help educate underprivileged children in Cuzco, Peru.
Dear Mike DeWitt - Thank you so much for your generous donation of seeds. Helping Hands, the organization that my travel group and I volunteered at, provides education for underprivileged children in Cuzco, Peru. They were very grateful for the seeds and excited to start planting them. I attached pictures of a sack garden, the first experiment with the seeds. The rest will be planted by the garden manager, Rosa. I also attached pictures of the children at Helping Hands. Thank you, again, for your wonderful contribution! -Sincerely,
Kyla King and the Peru travel group, Pacific Ridge School
Grangetto’s provided the DeWitt Weed Barrier Fabric for Charlie’s Boy Scout project; a project to help him become an Eagle Scout and they sent us a nice thank you!
Dear Grangetto’s (Attention Maria), Thank you very much for donating the weed barrier clothe for my Eagle Project. Thanks to your generosity and the massive response of volunteers and donations, I was able to exceed ail expectations and what I had ever hoped for on this project. This project turned out to be way more work than I had ever expected. Every time I thought we had gotten close to being done, another obstacle was thrown my way, or it just turned out that there was more work to be done. Each time I had a work party, I would get there and look at the work that needed to be done. I would say, “There is no way we can get this done.” However, each time there would be a huge response of volunteers and ail of the work, if not more, would get done. We ended up moving approximately 10 yards or more of dirt from the garden area by hand. This was a daunting task and probably one of the most difficult during the entire course of the project. Thank you to all the volunteers for moving countless wheelbarrows full of dirt. Without the donations that I received, I would not have been able to do any of the landscaping and improvements to the area. Because of this response I raised over $2400 in donations, and that doesn’t include the specific items (like yours) that were donated. With the money that was donated I was able to buy better materials that will last longer and be more useful to the church. The church greatly appreciated my project, and even the church administrator said that it went above and beyond ail expectations. I am truly blessed to have so many people who were willing to give so much to help me complete this project. Thank you for supporting Grace Lutheran School, thank you for supporting Boy Scouts and thank you for supporting me on my road to Eagle Scout. Without your help it would not have been possible. - Sincerely, Charlie Bartley
