Together, We’re Planting New Hope in Impoverished Communities.

​​Here at Grangetto’s Farm & Garden Supply, we are blessed to have been serving the San Diego community for over 70 years. A significant part of our mission is to invest in our community and use our resources to create positive change in the world. One of the ways we do this is through our partnership with Su Refugio Ministries, a non-profit organization that provides food, education, and skills training to orphans and widows in South America.

Our partnership with Su Refugio, meaning His Refuge in Spanish, was born out of a desire to steward resources to benefit these vulnerable children and women. We consider ourselves responsible to steward our abundance for planting new hope in dark places. Through sponsoring Su Refugio’s initiatives, we are partnering with commercial growers, home gardeners, and suppliers to bless those who suffer need.

Su Refugio is committed to caring for orphan children who experience malnutrition, neglect, and abuse. The organization also offers widows and single mothers the opportunity to pursue meaningful work through strategic skills training. By extending Christ’s love and compassion to these children and women, Su Refugio's ultimate goal is to bring them the hope of the gospel.

In Tobatí, Paraguay, Su Refugio works within a rural brick-making community, providing meals for children who would otherwise go hungry and offering skills training for the mothers of these children. They also provide a safe, nurturing environment for children who have been removed from harmful home situations. In Peruvian shanty towns, Su Refugio is offering education and skills training for single mothers and providing meals for their children. And in the dangerous neighborhood of Rafaela, Argentina, Su Refugio provides Christ-centered, high quality, bilingual education for children. Through our partnership with Su Refugio, Grangetto’s is supporting these initiatives and bringing hope to vulnerable communities.
